The Santa Barbara International Film Festival has come and gone but I had the best time covering red carpet events, attending world premieres and screenings, and just being out amongst all the interesting people that came to Santa Barbara for the film festival.
As a member of the press I had access to certain movies before screening times to aide in any movie reviews I wanted to write. However, I chose to actually attend the screenings and be surrounded by the audience, and feed from their reaction to the film. It was a real treat and I would like to thank Carol Marshall, SBIFF’s PR, for all of her help.
Although less big name celebrities came this year, I feel, compared to previous years, moviegoers and fans were still treated to the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Annette Bening and of course, Nicole Kidman who was the celebrity of the hour on the last weekend of the film festival. Unfortunately, getting sick near the end and last minute schedule changes just prevented me from doing everything I wanted to do but there is always next year. I hope the reviews on this blog inspired many of you to get out there and watch as many of the films showcased at this year’s Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
