Some of the things they offered, which I got to partake in, were private screenings of a couple of porcupines. Also, one could get up close and personal with Giraffes, and I even got the opportunity to feed two of them. Jo and Samantha were very nice in their presentations of these animals and I appreciate the time they took to answer my questions about these beautiful animals. Did you know porcupines have three different types of quills and that it is a myth that they shoot them out? Well that is a different blog for a different time. The event had an Old West/Cowboy theme to it, which just gave it a very nice setting for the outdoor event. Every single one from the staff worked hard, and my thanks goes to Julia McHugh, Director of Public Relations, for inviting me to such a wonderful event.

Media Event at the Santa Barbara Zoo
This evening I had the pleasure of attending an event for the media hosted at the Santa Barbara Zoo. It was a fun event in which members of the press got a chance to chit chat and trade career stories and tips amongst themselves. They had finger foods, which I have to be honest, some were not tasty at all. The small pastries were delicious. The highlight of the night for myself and others was the open bar. FREE DRINKS! KCOY went live from the event, and I got to meet Katie Marzullo in person. She is a very lovely woman. Mr. John Palminteri himself showed up and lightened up the mood.
